HEXAÔM
HEXAÔMETRE
Automatic bill of quantity generation and model check for France's largest home builder
Hexaôm has been relying on D-studio’s application since 2012 for one of its most important processes: sales price capture based on detailed bill of quantities. More than 35,000 accurate bills of quantities have since been processed and every day this plugin/application (via Revit) proves its added value. Hexaôm covers more than 46 different
different entities and brands, has existed for more than 100 years and generates a turnover of more than 1 billion euros per year. The company currently operates only in France, where it is the largest individual home builder.

The intial question? Making cost estimates? That was still done manually in the 1980s and then with software. When the application used was no longer supported, Hexaôm knocked on D-studio’s door. Although just founded, we stuck our necks out and took on this complex challenge. The first BIM application became an instant hit.
The solution? On top of Revit, a detailed price calculation tool was developed that links to the customer’s external price database. Through thoughtful formulas, the correct prices are read in, linked to the 3D model, and then forwarded to the in-house ERP system if desired. Although the price database is monitored daily by their own employees, at D-studio we take care of the processing from the 3D Revit model, compiling the parameters and dividing the objects into a clear tree structure, where the individual components are each given a price. Once this 3D model has been fine-tuned, a cost estimate can be derived from it in a minute. A calculation that can then easily be put into a contractual agreement. Throughout this process, not only are the properties/quantities of the objects taken into account, but also the relationship between them: a tour de force.
